Our Story

Chris and Monsi’s story began in 2019 on an ACTS Retreat with St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Monsi was the very last retreatant to sign up while seeking God’s guidance during a season of uncertainty, and Chris happened to be serving on the retreat team. As he wrote her name on a placemat before the weekend began, he couldn’t help but wonder, “Who is Monsi, and why did she sign up so late?” Little did either of them know that the retreat would become the beginning of a beautiful love story.

The two met over breakfast during the retreat, instantly connecting over a simple conversation that would lead to a lasting friendship. As they spent more time together after the retreat, that friendship naturally grew into something much deeper, beginning with their first date at Chester’s Hamburgers.

Just a few months later, Monsi lost her mother, and together they walked through one of life’s most difficult seasons. Through faith, love, and unwavering support, their relationship grew even stronger. Then, one year after they first met, while serving together on the next ACTS Retreat, Chris asked Monsi to be his girlfriend.

Seven years later, Chris and Monsi are excited to begin their greatest adventure yet. They are incredibly grateful for the journey that brought them here and can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with the family and friends they love most.
